Summary
The government has published a review of the Jersey Regulatory and Competition Framework (JCRA).
The economics consultancy Oxera was commissioned to undertake the review to assess whether there are changes that could be made to the framework that could secure better outcomes for local consumers and the Jersey Economy.
The review covers:
- the organisational structure of the JCRA
- interaction and relationship with government
- the competition framework
- the regulatory framework
- the appeals mechanism
There are 23 recommendations that either require changes in legislation, can be implemented by the JCRA itself or require involvement from the government.
