This report has been produced by the Public Health Intelligence Unit to examine the effect of tobacco on Islanders' health.
The smoking profile for Jersey reports on a number of population level smoking indicators, including:
- smoking patterns in adults
- use of electronic cigarettes
- smoking-related deaths
- smoking-attributable hospital admissions
- young people and smoking
- smoking quitters
- prices changes of tobacco
- tobacco imports
Comparisons in this report are made with Public Health England (PHE), the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC).
There is also comparison internationally to the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
A number of States of Jersey Departments have provided data for this report, including the States of Jersey Statistics Unit, Health and Social Services Department, the States of Jersey Prison Service and the States Of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service.
The report contains both previously published information and new analysis, with data to 2015.
