Summary
The PECRS 2015 annual report outlines the activities of the pension scheme over the last year.
The report highlights that:
- during the year the investments of the scheme increased by £70 million to be valued at £1.8 billion at the end of the year
- the fund achieved an investment return of 5.7% compared to a benchmark return of 2.1%
- scheme membership continued to grow and by the end of 2014 the scheme had 14,896 members, of which 50% were active members, 30% pensioners and 20% deferred members
- from 1st January 2016 the PECRS closed to new membership so the percentage of active members will start to decline.
- the scheme had a surplus of £92.7 million part of which has been used to revise pension increases to the full annual increase in Jersey RPI
