Summary
The year saw a number of events that affected the fishing industry and the wider marine environment. A major storm on 10/11 March appeared to cause considerable silt loads to be activated in Granville Bay and this was visible for a number of months and may have had other, more lasting effects. Fuel prices rose markedly early in the year, but declined later in the year, though undoubtedly they had an effect.
