Summary
The States of Jersey chose to take part in ground breaking research investigiating real time emissions from the exhausts of vehicles travelling along specific Jersey roads.
During that time, over 15,000 vehicle measurements were taken and analysed. The purpose was to further understand the type of emission released by differenct vehicle types.
The data gathered forms part of a wider emissions campaign and helps the development of cost effective pollution mitigation schemes by:
- identifying the most polluting vehicles
- identifying primary sources of emissions
- helping raise awareness of air quality on our Island
