Summary
The Business Tendency Survey covers private sector businesses in Jersey. The survey asks the Chief Executive or Managing Director of sampled businesses for their opinions on the current situation of their business compared to 3 months previously and also for their expectations for the next 3 months.
In September 2010
The headline indicator of Business Activity, though marginally negative, shows a significantly slower rate of decline than in previous quarters.
The Finance sector saw the most positive results for Product Prices and Future employment seen in the last year, although profitability remained negative. The non-finance sectors saw 5 of the 10 indicators remain at essentially the same level as June 2010 results, however all indicators were negative. The construction sector saw slight improvement in Profitability and Product Prices; Input Costs, however, remained at the same level as June 2010
