This report contains the results of an online
survey which asked islanders for their views about St Brelade’s Bay.
The three-week long survey took place in September
and asked islanders, including an island youth group and businesses, to respond
to three open-ended questions:
·
what do you love about the bay?
·
how has the bay changed over the last decade?
·
what could be done to improve the bay in the
future?
499 islanders responded with over half saying they
appreciated the bay for its natural beauty, walking along the beach and
promenade, swimming and water sports.
71% of respondents to the survey said developments
in the bay were unsympathetic to existing architecture and landscape.
The Baseline Report sets out the historical
development, landscape and townscape analysis of the study area. This document,
along with the survey results, will help support the emerging bridging Island
Plan policy framework for St Brelade’s Bay and its surroundings.
