Summary
As part of updating the Island Plan, we commissioned Arup to undertake a comparative review of the islands historic environment. The Historic Environment Review looks at our laws and policies, and will help set new planning policies as well as suggesting other ways to improve the protection of Jersey’s heritage both in the island and its surrounding water.
Over 60 stakeholders, including members from the Société Jeriaise, the National Trust for Jersey, and Jersey Heritage provided input together with the Government, to put the report together.
While the report recognises the strengths of the Jersey system, it also tells us what we need to do better and where we can make improvements in our laws and in our Island Plan policies.
