Summary

Black seabream (Spondyliosoma cantharus) is a common resident in Jersey waters that is sought both commercially and recreationally. Bream build nests to lay eggs on during their spawning cycle and a recent study using benthic mapping and videos has located areas of nesting activity. The results highlight the substrate types nests have been located on and associated habitat features that may indicate suitable nesting ground.
