Summary
In order to help the States of Jersey respond to France’s public inquiry into the proposed build of Flamanville 3, consultancy firms were formally engaged in August 2006.
Jersey lives in close proximity to this nuclear power plant and poses a serious threat should the plant experience a catastrophe. The building of a third power plant brings serious concerns and true cause to properly investigate that everything is being done by the French government to ensure it is built to the highest of standards.
The report responds to the various areas of the proposed nuclear plant:
- plant design
- regulatory control limits
- use of MOX fuel
- hazard assessment
- emergency planning regime
- decommissioning and dismantling
