Summary
The first States Cultural Strategy was debated and adopted in September 2005, following extensive public consultation and close working with groups across the cultural spectrum.
The strategy sought to achieve a number of different outcomes:
- agreeing a vision and mission for the States to reflect the importance of cultural activity
- setting a range of cultural objectives for the States and its partner organisations
- establishing a new framework for working across the cultural sector
This report provides a review of progress. It also notes some issues and matters of wider principle which the department is currently addressing.
