Summary
The States decided in March 2011 to establish a Committee of Inquiry into historical child abuse in Jersey.
The then Council of Ministers commissioned Verita to:
- seek the views of interested parties about the purpose, manner and conduct of a Committee of Inquiry
- propose terms of reference
- forecast likely costs
- make a written report with recommendations
The Chief Minister then commissioned child protection expert, Andrew Williamson, to review Verita's draft Terms of Reference and to produce a report.
