Williamson Report on Committee of Inquiry into Historical Child Abuse

Produced by the Office of the Chief Executive
Authored by Andrew Williamson and published on 12 Oct 2012
Cost: £6,000.00

Summary

The States decided in March 2011 to establish a Committee of Inquiry into historical child abuse in Jersey.

The then Council of Ministers commissioned Verita to:

  • seek the views of interested parties about the purpose, manner and conduct of a Committee of Inquiry
  • propose terms of reference
  • forecast likely costs
  • make a written report with recommendations

The Chief Minister then commissioned child protection expert, Andrew Williamson, to review Verita's draft Terms of Reference and to produce a report.
