​The purpose of this report is to:

• provide more up-to-date knowledge on housing supply
• allow comparisons with identified requirements for new homes in the Island Plan
• assist in ensuring that an adequate supply of suitable housing will be available to meet the community’s need

This report describes the situation at the start of 2012 and is the latest in a series of such reports on residential land availability. Following the approval of the 2011 Island Plan, it is the intention to provide
regular monitoring reports on housing land availability and the performance of related planning policies.
