Summary
The Jersey Annual Social Survey (JASS) provides the means to collect and analyse detailed information on a wide range of social issues on an annual basis. It provides official social statistics about Jersey, allowing everyone in the Island to have a better understanding of social issues and for policy to be made from a more informed standpoint.
Topics covered in the 2009 survey include:
- demographics
- early years, childcare and young people
- careers, culture and sports (Careers Jersey, Jersey library, sports participation)
- health and lifestyle (smoking, mental health, housing standards, walking, cycling, breast-feeding)
- States of Jersey police (priorities, performance, neighbourhood safety and concerns about crime)
- anti-social behaviour
- Jersey-France ferry route
- moving house
- travel and public services (buying a new car, reducing car use, town parking facilities, public service ratings)
- pensions
- work-related accidents and ill health
- primary healthcare (GP visits, prescriptions, pharmacist advice, other health professionals)
