Summary
The Jersey Economic Trends 2012 booklet brings together a wide range of statistics relating to the Island's economy which have been published by the Statistics Unit during 2012. This edition presents annual data up to 2011 and quarterly series up to the third quarter of 2012.
Information that features in the booklet includes:
- economic indicators - Gross National Income (GNI) and Gross Value Added (GVA), as well as finance sector profits and value and volume of retail sales
- employment in Jersey - employment by sector and unemployment
- prices and earnings - trends in the Retail Prices Index (RPI), House Price Index (HPI) and the Index of Average Earnings
The latest edition contains new sections which provide further analysis of Jersey's economic performance, measured by Gross Value Added (GVA):
- GVA per capita - an indicator of the standard of living of residents in the Island
- GVA for each sub-sector of the finance industry from 2000 to 2011
- GVA per full-time equivalent employee for each sub-sector of finance (a proxy measure of productivity)
