Summary
1,850 people were registered as Actively Seeking Work (ASW) in Jersey in June 2013.
The June 2013 report shows that:
- on a seasonally adjusted basis, the total number of people registered as ASW in Jersey was 20 lower than a month earlier (May 2013) and 30 lower than the average for the preceding 3 months
- the non-seasonally adjusted ASW total was 1,850. This latest monthly total is 30 lower than a month earlier (May 2013). It was 130 higher than that of a year earlier (June 2012) and almost double that of four years ago (June 2009)
- long-term registered ASW (registered for more than 12 months) accounted for more than a fifth of total ASW and was at the highest level recorded to date
- 260 teenagers aged 16-19 years were registered as ASW, a similar level to that seen in the previous month. 100 teenagers were on the Advance to Work scheme
