Summary
This report presents a variety of future scenarios of migration patterns and explores how the differing scenarios would affect the size and structure of Jersey’s population over the short, medium and long term.
The population projections use the 2011 Jersey census as a baseline, as well as recent trends in fertility, mortality and migration.
The population projections have been updated so that they incorporate known levels of births, deaths and migration levels for 2011 and 2012, as well as revised mortality rates. For 2013 onwards, each component in the projections - births, deaths, inward and outward migration - is an estimate based on recent trends.
