About Digital Telecare
Telecare is an emergency alarm and remote monitoring system to help people live safely and independently at home for longer. It can reduce the need for institutional care.
The service uses a range of electronic devices, including:
- in-home alarms
- sensors, including fall detection smart plugs
- wearable outdoor GPS alarms
If you press your alarm or it’s triggered by one of the sensors, a team of Care Navigators is available 24/7 to make sure you have immediate support. They’ll quickly assess the situation and contact you. If you’re not able to talk to them, they’ll contact your nominated keyholders or if necessary, the emergency services.
All in-home alarms come with a backup battery. They’ll work for up to 24 hours if there’s a power cut.
The devices can also be used to report on daily activities.
Jersey Telecare service is delivered in partnership with Airtel-Vodafone.
