This guidance document, often referred to as the ‘yellow booklet’, is relevant to all working activities which could disturb underground or overhead services and other utility apparatus.
It identifies the steps which should be taken prior to starting work and the systems of work which should be adopted to reduce the risk of coming into contact with services.
This booklet is a revision of previously published guidance and has been prepared following consultation with the utility companies.
