About Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year 2025 is powered by Learn.je, with support from the Creative Island Partnership.

Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year and Spring Festival, is celebrated in East-Asian communities around the world.

In 2025, Lunar New Year takes place from 29 January until 12 February.

This cultural festival is traditionally an opportunity to:

  • celebrate family and prosperity
  • share hopes for the year ahead
  • enter into the new year with positivity and joy

This New Year will bring the Year of the Dragon, 1 of 12 cyclical zodiac animals.
