Creative Island Partnership (CIP) and
Friends of Africa Jersey (FOAJ) are proud to present the eighth celebration of African Awareness Week (AAW) on the Island.
AAW is a chance for Jersey’s African-Caribbean community to share their culture with the Island through educational and cultural activities, which include:

African Painting Workshops | Tuesday 21 May to Friday 24 May 2024 | Jersey Museum Artist Selina Chibanda of
Eye Am Africa will run a 3-hour workshop each day throughout the week.

Organisers
Friends of Africa Jersey
FOAJ is a local charity working to promote, celebrate and enhance the profile of African-Caribbean culture on the Island.
Their team works across:

schools
- workplaces
- public spaces
Where they run activities to share African-Caribbean heritage with the multicultural community in Jersey.
FoAJ also works to support individuals with the transition and integration into life in Jersey. They advocate for African-Caribbean Islanders to ensure their voices are fairly heard within the community.
They also provide financial support to those who need access to health and care services.

The Creative Island Partnership
The CIP has been established by the Government as a forum for individuals interested in working together to deliver the objectives of the Arts Strategy.
The CIP provides a space for knowledge exchange, ideas generation and direct engagement with Government. The network includes leaders from:

arts and cultural organisations
- people directly engaged and involved with the arts
- lead partners in sport, education, business, health, tourism, and the environment
Members will be a part of developing the pillars of the Arts strategy.
