What is Liberation Day
Each year, Jersey marks the anniversary of Jersey’s liberation from German occupation during the Second World War.
The Channel Islands were the only part of the British Isles to be occupied and were viewed by Hitler as one of the stepping-stones to the full invasion of mainland Britain.
