Information about how Jersey ’s new ministerial system of government will work is now available in Portuguese and Polish.
Last month the States published a guide to ministerial government to help people in Jersey understand how the new system will work. The leaflet provides a concise description of the new system, including information about the Council of Ministers and the arrangements for Scrutiny. This leaflet was distributed in copies of the Jersey Evening Post.
Portuguese and Polish translations of the leaflet are now available on this website, from all parish halls, the Public Library, the States Contact Centre, and from the Polish and Portuguese Consuls. A number of employer and employee organisations have also been sent translated copies of the guide.
The introduction of a ministerial system of government in December is the most important change in the Island’s government for many years and will see the old Committee system abolished and replaced by a new Council of Ministers working alongside Scrutiny Panels.
