The States of Jersey Statistics Unit has today published the results of a survey on a wide range of social issues in Jersey. The survey is the product of improved co‑operation between departments which has meant that valuable information can be produced at a fraction of the cost of individual surveys.
A wealth of detailed and accurate statistics on lifestyle, health, transport and States services has been compiled and this information will be invaluable in implementing the States Strategic Plan and developing future policy.
3600 questionnaires were sent out of which more than 50% were returned for analysis. The Chief Minister, Senator Frank Walker, is delighted with this outstanding response, ”I am extremely grateful to everyone who responded to the survey”, he said today. “The high response rate has meant that we now have detailed and accurate statistics on a number of important areas. This information will help us to formulate and take forward policies from an informed position”.
The Social Survey will be run annually and work is already underway on this year’s study which will commence in June.
