The main measure of Jersey’s population is provided by the Census, which has recently been carried out every five years. Census data presented here are supplemented by estimates calculated by updating the baseline census data with more recent birth, death and migration data.
Jersey’s population was 87,186 at the last Census in March 2001.
By the end of 2005 Jersey's population had increased to 88,200.
A description of the methodology for estimating the resident population on an annual basis was published alongside the release for 2004.
