750 Jersey employers are to be asked for their assistance in completing the latest Strategic Employers’ Survey.
Conducted on behalf of Jersey’s Economic Development Department (EDD), in the form of a 20 minute telephone interview, it is to commence next week and will be conducted over a five week period.
The survey examines the learning and training activities currently taking place in Jersey in order to identify gaps that may exist in the development of local labour skills.
EDD surveys local employers every three years to examine the size and structure of the island’s workforce, recruitment activity and gauge the extent of other challenges that local businesses are facing.
The survey is the fifth phase of research, providing comparable data with the Employers’ Surveys of 1995, 1998, 2001 and 2004. The survey will track the key measures of business confidence and business planning, as well as examining recruitment difficulties.
The Survey will be carried out by IFF Ltd, a leading research company who specialise in skills and employers surveys. IFF Ltd has over a decade of experience of working in Jersey on all the previous employers’ surveys.
The findings are expected to be published in mid September 2007.
