The Minister for Transport and Technical Services is holding the following public meetings in connection with an Outline Planning Permission for a proposed Energy from Waste plant.
Time: 6 p.m. Thursday 18 January 2007
Location: The Main Hall, St Paul’s Centre, Dumaresq Street, St Helier
A twenty minute presentation outlining the content and purpose of the Outline Planning Permission will be made. After the presentation, the Minister for Transport and Technical Services and the Project Team will take questions from the audience.
Times: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday 21 January 2007 and
2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Monday 22 January 2007
Location: Ommaroo Hotel, Havre de Pas, St Helier
A display summarising the purpose and content of the Outline Planning Permission will be available for public viewing. The Minister for Transport and Technical Services and the Project Team will be available to discuss matters arising from the application.
Minister for Transport and Technical Services - Deputy Guy de Faye - said
"I want people to fully understand Transport and Technical Services’ plans for producing energy from Jersey’s waste so that we can continue to have an open and honest dialogue with the community on this vital issue.
These public meetings will give anyone interested an opportunity to see and understand the proposals and ask questions directly of the project team."
A public notice about the meetings will appear in the Jersey Evening Post on Tuesday 16 January 2007.

In addition, a workshop about the potential health impacts of the proposed Energy from Waste plant is being organised by the Department of Health and Social Services on 31 January 2007 at Jersey Potteries.
