The Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Deputy Alan Maclean, has announced that Jersey Airport Director, Julian Green, has stated his intention to step down for personal reasons.
In the two and a half years since taking up the role of Airport Director, Mr Green has overseen a number of significant changes at Jersey Airport, both in terms of management structure and passenger services. This has included a market development strategy, which has seen an increase in the number of new routes and low cost airlines now serving the Island as well as significant improvements to facilities for departing passengers.
Announcing the resignation, Deputy Maclean said, “I am particularly disappointed that we are losing Julian Green who has proved to be an exceptional Airport Director. He has made a significant contribution to reshaping Jersey Airport and in optimising its role for the social and economic benefit of the Island. Julian has developed a strong management team and driven forward an aggressive change programme that has resulted in improved facilities and an impressive increase in our air route network and passenger numbers. I am confident that Julian’s successor will be able to continue the good work in further developing our strategy of delivering a modern, safe and successful airport for the benefit of our Island community”.
The date for Mr Green’s departure will take into account the recruitment of a new Airport Director.
