The Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Deputy Alan Maclean has welcomed today’s announcement by Flybe of their plan to introduce a weekly direct service to Nice, in the South of France. The new summer service will commence on Saturday 24 May 2008.
The Minister, who has specific responsibility for the airport says, “Flybe has been the largest airline operating passenger services to and from Jersey for a number of years and once again has shown their commitment to the Island. This new route opens up a number of opportunities for inbound tourism but will also offer local residents a direct connection into mainland Europe. It is another boost for Jersey Airport’s marketing strategy, one of which aims is to increase services into Europe. Jersey Airport remains committed to Flybe and I wish them every success on establishing this exciting route”.
