New development in Jersey is playing an increasingly important role with pressure for change and better design.
To ensure design excellence, the Minister for Planning and Environment wishes to appoint an Architecture Panel, an independent panel of three experts who will promote better design and consider the design merits of challenging development proposals.
We wish to recruit architects, conservation architects or architectural experts with a proven track record and whose experience and professional expertise cover a range of issues such as contemporary and traditional design, urban design and place-making, landscape design, sustainable design and conservation issues.
A critical ability is important, and experience in promoting good architecture is essential. Panel members will take part in at least six panel meetings over a 12-month period.
Professional applicants currently in private practice in the Island will need to demonstrate how they would avoid conflicts of interest.
Remuneration will be on an hourly basis and will be negotiated dependent on qualifications and experience.
