The Working Group reviewing speed limits on the Island is holding a public meeting on Monday 6 July at 7.30pm at St Lawrence Parish Hall.
The Chairman of the Working Group, the Constable of St John, Graeme Butcher said “We have recently issued a questionnaire and many people have already completed one or filled it in on-line. But I am keen that the public has the opportunity to discuss the issues with the Working Group face to face. Speed limits affect everybody on the Island – whether they are driving, walking, cycling or just living beside a road. I want to ensure the recommendations of the Group take into consideration what people actually think, so please come and tell us.”
Copies of the questionnaire will be available at the public meeting but are also available from most public buildings such as the Customer Services Centre at Cyril Le Marquand House, the Library, Transport and Technical Services offices at South Hill, Parking Control Office at Sand Street and all Parish Halls. In addition, it can be downloaded or be completed online via the States website (
www.gov.je). Completed questionnaires should be returned to Transport and Technical Services or the Customer Services Centre at Cyril le Marquand House. The consultation period will end on 31 July 2009. If anyone cannot obtain a copy, they can phone Transport and Technical Services on 445509 and one can be sent in the post.
