The pass rate at A to E was a creditable 99.6% compared with the UK pass rate of 97.5%. The percentage of students achieving a grade A or B was 57.1%, 5.1% higher than the U.K.
Jim Westwater, Head of Planning and Projects for Education, Sport and Culture, said he was delighted to see yet another set of excellent results from the Island schools:
“The figures released this morning indicate again that we are continuing to achieve high standards. The A-level results are one of the main benchmarks against which the effectiveness of an Education Service is judged; these results show us that our service can be compared with the best anywhere”.
The Director of Education, Sport and Culture, Mario Lundy, said he was very pleased to see such good results:
"All involved in the education of young people: parents, staff and the students themselves should be very proud of their achievements. These results represent a tremendous dividend on the investment that the community makes in education”.
