You can now book your driving test or register your new car at Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS) at lunchtime, as the customer service desk is now staying open from 9am until 4.15pm on weekdays.
When a full-time post fell vacant earlier this year, DVS reviewed the service and seized the opportunity to recruit part-time staff in order to provide sufficient cover to open throughout the day, at no extra cost.
All the usual transactions will be available at the customer service desk. However, if members of the public want to speak to specific members of staff they are advised to make an appointment.
Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Connétable Mike Jackson, said “Opening over lunchtimes will make it more convenient for those customers who might otherwise have to take time off work to visit DVS. We continually strive to improve services and I’m pleased we’ve been able to offer these extended service hours.”
