An Awards and Celebrating Achievement Evening is being held by Health and Social Services on 7 October 2009 at the Radisson Hotel in the presence of His Excellency, The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs Ridgway.
This is the first time the Long Service Awards Ceremony has been combined with the Achievement Awards Evening into a single Celebrating Achievement event. Achievements Awards are presented to staff who have gained extra qualifications during the course of their work.
At least 80 members of staff, and a further 50 family and friends, are due to attend. The event is being held to celebrate publicly the work of those who have successfully completed courses of further study and those who have given long service to Health and Social Services.
Each member of staff will receive an individual award and His Excellency and Mrs Valerie Ridgway have kindly agreed to present the Nursing and Midwifery Achievements Awards while the Chief Minister, Senator Terry Le Sueur, will present the Long Service Awards.
The Health and Social Services Minister, Deputy Anne Pryke, said: "I am delighted that we have this opportunity to formally recognise the long and dedicated service of staff and also to celebrate the achievement of others in obtaining further qualifications through additional training.
"It should be an excellent evening and I am grateful to the sponsors whom have come forward to make this event possible. This includes local firms Camerons and Mercury Medical Jersey, and also Ethicon and Johnson and Johnson."
