09 October 2009
The Minister for Health and Social Services has thanked the Health, Social Security and Housing Scrutiny Panel for their review of Services for Vulnerable Children of July 2009, which made 38 recommendations.
In her response, Deputy Anne Pryke broadly accepts these recommendations and will be taking them into account when amendments are made to the Williamson Implementation plan. This is the plan designed to improve and modernise children’s services in Jersey. It is anticipated that the plan will be put before the States before Christmas.
The Minister says: “My Assistant Minister Deputy, Judith Martin, and I are indebted to Andrew Williamson and to Mike Taylor, the Chair of the Jersey Child Protection Committee, for their valuable input into this response.”
