Quest Seekers is the summer reading challenge, for children aged 4 - 12, at the Jersey Library.
Children registered for the challenge read 6 library books in their summer holidays and come into the library to tell the staff about the books. For each book they receive a sticker which goes on their Quest Seekers collecting folder. When they collect the sixth sticker they also get a Quest Seekers pen (which writes invisibly), and earn a Quest Seekers medal and certificate which will be given out at school assembly early in the autumn term.
Children who are already taking part in Quest Seekers have until 12 September to earn their medal and certificate.
All children who complete Quest Seekers will also be entered into a prize draw, with prizes awarded at a Winners Event in early October.
Linne Omissi, Young Readers Librarian said: “It has been a busy summer in the library. Almost 1700 children in Jersey registered for Team Read, the Reading Challenge in 2008, and that figure has already been exceeded this year for Quest Seekers.“

Background to the Summer Reading Challenge
The Summer Reading Challenge is an immensely popular and successful reading initiative. Now in its eleventh year it reaches 690,000 children aged 4 to 12 years annually via the UK library network. It is created and run by the Reading Agency, the independent charity working to inspire people to read more, and is supported by children’s publishers.
