Jersey students have received excellent A-level results, with more than 84% achieving grades A* to C.
Head of Planning and Projects for Education, Sport and Culture, Jim Westwater, said he was delighted to see yet another set of excellent results from the Island schools. “We are very pleased with today’s results, particularly with the proportion of students achieving the new A* grade. Our young people are our most valuable asset and these excellent results mean that many students will be off, in a few weeks time, to study at their first choice of university. Their success now augers well for both their future and for the future prosperity of the Island.”
Assistant Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, Deputy Anne Dupre, said that the Island’s students had performed extremely well. "Their tremendous achievements are the foundation stones for their future and that of the Island. Their success is the result of much hard work and testament to the continuing investment in education."
The Director of Education, Sport and Culture, Mario Lundy said “I am very pleased to see another solid performance from Jersey students. What is particularly pleasing is the pass rate at the upper end of the scale including the award of 129 of the new A* grades. Hopefully this means that the majority of Jersey students will now go to their first choice of university."
