People arriving in Jersey can once again make cash withdrawals landside at Jersey Airport following the reinstatement of a cash point.
The standalone machine is operated by an independent cash dispensing company called Currency Machine and is located in the landside departures hall, next to the information desk. It means arriving passengers and anyone using the airport can now withdraw money. The machine dispenses both UK Sterling and Euros. Other foreign currencies, such as US Dollars and Swiss Francs, can be purchased at the information desk post office.
Last year, HSBC decided to remove their cash point from the arrivals terminal as a result of a fall in demand.
Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Senator Paul Routier, says he's pleased to see a new machine reinstated and is confident the public will make use of it “While we understood the commercial reasons behind the decision to remove the cash point, we shared the public’s disappointment when it was taken away. At that time, we promised to do everything we could to reinstate such a facility and I am pleased to say we have delivered on this promise.”
