The Fire and Rescue Service was called out this afternoon after a bus and car collided on the Route de Maufant.
Fire fighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to enable paramedics to extricate the driver of the car, who was suffering severe chest pains, on a spinal board.
Last night's rain after a long, dry spell has caused road surfaces to become very slippery and a number of collisions have occurred today.
