12 May 2010
During the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 12 May) Fishery Officers from the States of Jersey fishery protection vessel 'Norman Le Brocq' intercepted 2 French trawlers working close to the south east corner of the Island.
Officers boarded 1 vessel and, as a result of their preliminary investigation, the masters of both vessels were instructed to cease fishing and to take their vessels to St Helier. On arrival at St Helier the vessels were detained and further enquiries will continue during the morning.
