Children from Mont Nicolle School are finding out about life behind the scenes at Jersey Airport during a visit on Monday 24 May 2010.
After printing their own boarding cards, the 24 pupils, aged between 5 and 6 years old, will go airside and visit a number of departments with the aim of making their ‘journey’ as fun and informative as possible.
As well as meeting airport staff and handling agents, the children will visit the check-in and baggage areas, airport security and departure lounges. The visit will conclude with a talk and interactive demonstration by the airport’s Fire and Rescue Service.
Jersey Airport’s Terminal and Security Manager, Steve Read, said “This is a great opportunity for pupils to experience a working environment and to learn about the airport’s role in providing passengers with a gateway to other destinations. It is also a great chance for Jersey Airport to showcase all that it has to offer to its future travellers.”
