The Royal Court has appointed a new delegué (Probation Officer) today, Thursday 18 February 2010.
James Thomas Lynch will take the oath of office on Friday 19 February 2010 at the Royal Court. He was born in the United Kingdom and obtained a degree in Criminal Justice with Diploma in Probation Studies from the University of Hertfordshire in 2007.
Mr Lynch originally obtained a degree in English Literature from Queens University, Belfast in 1998. He was employed as an Assistant Surveyor with a construction company in London between 1998 and 2000, and subsequently became an English Language Teacher with the Polyglot Language Centre in London between 2001 and 2005.
Mr Lynch decided to pursue a career as a Probation Officer and was accepted as a Trainee Probation Officer in February 2005 to February 2007 with the National Probation Service, London Probation Area. Following qualification he remained employed by the London Probation Service until his application for the post of Probation Officer with the Jersey Probation and After-Care Service.
Brian Heath, Chief Probation Officer said “I am delighted at Mr Lynch’s appointment. He fills an existing vacancy. He commenced employment with us in September 2009 and has proved himself to be an enthusiastic and committed professional.”
