Jersey will play host to 4 Tornadoes from 14 Squadron RAF on a private 5 day visit to the Island commencing Thursday 17 June 2010.
One of the pilots from the squadron is Jerseyman Flight Lieutenant Duncan Laisney who will show cadets from his old Air Training Corps Squadron around the aircraft.
The visit to Jersey is part of a training programme in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan in October. This will see the aircraft perform close air support training over Salisbury Plain en route to the Island. However, the aircraft will not be flying during the period they are in Jersey.
Jersey residents are being warned to expect high levels of noise when the aircraft arrive in Jersey on Thursday afternoon and when they depart during the morning of Monday 21 June 2010.
