Following a request from Senator Alan Breckon, the Minister for Treasury and Resources has published a cost / benefit report for the Housing Development Fund.
Senator Philip Ozouf says "The report shows the success of the Housing Development Fund in enabling the delivery of more than 900 units of social housing accommodation since its creation.
"The report also shows that there is a £6 million balance remaining in the fund, which is currently earmarked to underwrite letters of comfort for the Jersey Homes Trust, and other social housing providers, against future interest rate rises.
"The Housing Development Fund has been a significant contributor to the increase in social housing provision in the last 10 years and I hope this report provides useful information for States Members and the public on social housing provision.
"I am looking forward to continuing to work with the new Housing Minister in the transformation of the Housing Department into a stand-alone entity."
