More than 50% of ticket sales for events at Fort Regent are now booked online.
The Department for Education, Sport and Culture launched its Events Online Booking System last year to make it easier for customers to buy tickets.
Fort Regent’s Marketing and Events Manager, Colin Stanier, said “I’m delighted with the success of our online booking system since it was launched in November 2010. We wanted to offer customers an easier way to buy tickets no matter where they are in the world, and in this digital age moving much of our service online seemed a natural progression.
“We are always looking at ways to improve our service and are extremely pleased at the rising trend in online purchases. We will shortly be introducing a new feature which allows internet customers to check the view of the stage from their preferred seating area before buying tickets to an event.”
From September, a new part of the online booking system will allow customers to hover over the area where they’re seated and see images of the stage.
To date, the most popular choice of event being booked online is comedy. 44% of all online bookings since November last year have been for comedy shows. The most popular show booked online has been the Alan Carr – Pre UK Arena Show. Tickets went on sale on 29 June and so far 60% of the total ticket sales have been made online.
