The petanque terrains at the Millennium Town Park will open on Saturday 3 December 2011 with a competition and family fun day.
The ‘Jingle Boules’ event will consist of an inter-parish competition between St Clement and St Helier and an introductory session for those wishing to find out more about the game.
The competition will start at 10.30am and spectators are welcome. This will be followed by a family petanque session from 2pm to 3.30pm when coaches and umpires from the Jersey Petanque Association will introduce people to the game, showing them how to play and develop their skills.
Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Deputy Kevin Lewis, said “I am delighted that this latest element of the town park has been completed. I am sure it will prove to be a popular community facility.”
