The Treasury Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf, has made the following statement:
It is with great sadness that I advise that Malcolm Campbell, Comptroller of Taxes, died peacefully at home on Sunday morning.
This has come as a great shock as Malcolm was diagnosed with cancer only a few short weeks ago.
Malcolm joined the Taxes Office in 1978 and was appointed Comptroller of Taxes in 2001. He made an outstanding contribution to the States of Jersey and in the coming weeks opportunities will arise where appropriate tributes to his exceptional work will be paid.
Our thoughts are with his wife Isobel, their 2 children, family and friends.
Malcolm, who was 59, will be greatly missed especially by his staff, not least for his integrity, hard work, kindness and good humour.
