Transport and Technical Services is reminding Islanders that, from Monday April 2, they will have to start paying again to use seasonal car parks.
Parking in seasonal car parks is free between October and March but a charge of 1 pay card unit per 2 hours comes into force on 1 April. This applies to the following car parks:
- Lay-bys 5, 6 and 7 on Victoria Avenue
- Victoria House
- La Perquage at La Route de la Haule
- La Mielle at St Aubin
- Midbay at St Brelade’s bay
- Tams at St Brelade’s bay
- Woodford at St Brelade’s bay
These car parks serve neighbouring beaches. Seasonal charging was introduced as a way of freeing up more spaces for beach-goers in areas where public car parks might otherwise be filled up by local car owners.
Tristen Dodd, Director of Transport for TTS, said: “Although there is signage in these seasonal car parks that says you have to ‘pay and display’, we want to give people an extra reminder, particularly regular users who may not pay as much attention to signage as others.”
