The Planning and Environment Minister has approved new supplementary planning guidance for the Summerland and Ambulance Headquarters sites at Rouge Bouillon.
The guidance sets out clear development principles to be followed in the design process for any future development on the sites and was prepared following a public consultation process.
Deputy Rob Duhamel said “This brief sets out sound guidelines to be adopted when the time comes to prepare detailed proposals for redevelopment. Both sites are still being used, but that they have been identified as potentially surplus to the requirements of the States.
“This will require the relocation of the States of Jersey Police from Summerland to a new site and in the case of the Ambulance Station relocation elsewhere in Rouge Bouillon.
"These relocations are being pursued and the approval of the development brief will allow early work to begin on details of a scheme to provide affordable homes on both sites, a policy recommendation identified in the Island plan.”
