Following a successful meeting yesterday (Monday 2 July 2012) the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Public Accounts Committee Chairman, Deputy Tracey Vallois, have made the following statement:
“We deeply regret the departure of Chris Swinson O.B.E. He has done much sterling work to the benefit of the Island and it is extremely disappointing that he has felt the need to resign at this stage. We are working closely together to actively look at how to take the matter forward and fill the vacant position”.
The responsibility for the post of Comptroller and Auditor General rests jointly between the Chief Minister and the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.
